Testing Password Strength Using Google

Password is very important because with password we are able to protect our confidential data from being accessed by wrong person.SO that is why it is very important that to use a complex password BUT easy to remember when choosing your password.

As far as I know, strong password must contain both numbers and letters.Have you choose password for example for your new email account?Well, then let's try to test whether that password is strong or not.

How to test ? The easy way is by using Google. I love Google since it has a lot of hidden services and hacks.Google tries to help us by creating a new hidden service that will give a security rating for every password.(Ratings is from 1 to 4).

1 - The Least Secure
4 - The Most Secure

Enter the URL shown below at the address bar of the browser and, observe the final “mypassword” tag. That’s the password field, so you must replace it with your own password and then press ENTER. Google will analyze it and then will return you the number that corresponds with your word.

enter this URL in your browser:-
https://www.google.com/accounts/RatePassword?Passwd=mypassword

For the example above, the results is "2",which means not secure enough.

Awesome Firefox 3 Features

Firefox 3 has been released and for those who has been using Firefox 3 know a lot of awesome features included. IF you're still using the old one, you better switch to the new version since if you're not, you are going to regret it. Get the new firefox 3 here.

1) Smart Location Bar
The new Firefox 3 location bar learns as you use it—it’s so highly evolved that we like to call it the “Awesome Bar”. Type in a term and the autocomplete function includes possible matching sites from your browsing history, as well as sites you’ve bookmarked and tagged in a drop down.

2) One-Click Bookmarking
One click on the star icon at the end of the location bar bookmarks a site.
Two clicks and you can choose where to save it and whether to tag it.

3) Security & Privacy
Believe me, Firefox 3 is much secure since it got Anti-malware, Anti-phishing, Parental Controls, instant website ID and also ability to clear private data.

Firefox gets a fresh update of web forgery sites 48 times in a day, so if you try to visit a fraudulent site that’s pretending to be a site you trust (like your bank), a browser message—big as life—will stop you.

4) Streamlined "Remember password" handling
No more guessing whether you're saving the right password or clicking "Cancel" on unnecessary pop-up requests. Gran Paradiso only asks you to utilize its password-saving function once you're already in and sure everything worked, and it won't block you from seeing the logged-out version of a page if you don't want to sign in.

5) Insanely improved performance

It's not flashy, and it doesn't have any social networking features, but Firefox 3's actual performance is the best reason anyone should consider upgrading, or making the switch to the 'fox. Firefox's engineers claim that their third major release is 9.3 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 in JavaScript performance, and 2.7 times faster than Firefox 2. This means snappier browser performance when you're using webapps like Gmail, Remember the Milk, and more. Even more important, especially for Mac users, is the improved memory usage and more than 15,000 improvements that make for a less crash-prone browser. I've seen noticeable speed-ups in page loading in Linux, XP, and Vista, but the real reason I've switched over to using Release Candidate 1 is that I haven't had to cross my fingers every time a Flash-based video loads.

How to Easily Create a Partition on Your Hard Disk with XP

How to Easily Create a Partition on Your Hard Disk with XP

If you've moved up from Windows 95 or 98 to windows XP, one big thing you??™ll notice is that creating new partitions doesn??™t have to be done from the command line any more. windows XP makes it easy to create a new partition using the graphical disk management tool.

Here's how:

1. Turn off your computer and install your new hard disk. It's unlikely that you have any unpartitioned space on which to create a new partition on the drive already in the machine, so you??™ll need to add a new drive. New drives typically don't come preformatted, so you'll need to create your own partitions and format them.

2. Start your computer and logon as an administrator. Click Start and then click the Run command. In the Open text box type: diskmgmt.msc and click OK.

3. A Wizard will appear when the Disk Management console opens. Go through the Wizard's steps and allow it to initialize the new disk, but do not allow the Wizard to convert the disk from basic to dynamic.

4. You will see, on the left side of the console, disk icons that represent "Disk 0″, "Disk 1" etc. Your new disk should be the one with the highest number. The size of the disk should be listed, and the word "Unallocated" should be just under the size. Right click where it shows the size of the disk and click the New Partition command.

5. Click Next on the New Partition Wizard Welcome page.

6. On the Select Partition Type page, click on both of the options and read the Descriptions. We'll assume here you're creating a primary partition. Select Primary partition and click Next.

7. On the Specify Partition Size page, type in the size of the partition. Depending on what you want to use the disk for, you might want to create more than one partition. Type in the size of the new partition in the Partition size in MB text box and click Next.

8. On the Assign Drive Letter or Path page, you can bind the partition to a drive letter or mount it in an empty NTFS folder. In this example, you'll do it the old fashioned way and assign the partition a new drive letter. Select the drive letter and click Next.

9. You need to format the partition to use it. Always use NTFS unless you need to allow other operating systems on the same machine to access the drive. You can use the defaults, or customize the Allocation unit size based on the types of applications you want to run on the disk. Click Next.

Apple recalls iPhone USB battery adapters

Apple recalls iPhone USB battery adapters

Apple is recalling USB power adapters that shipped as part of the iPhone 3G package in the U.S., Japan, Canada, Mexico, and numerous Latin American countries. Apple customers who purchased the phone can exchange the adapter via web order or simply by visiting Apple stores beginning October 10. Apple today indicated a design flaw in its “ultracompact” USB power adapters supplied with the iPhone 3G or as a standalone accessory, which can cause the prongs to break off and remain in the power outlet, creating the risk of electric shock. The company said that it has received reports of “detached” prongs but no injuries.

Apple said that replacement adapters will be available beginning on October 10. Customers who received their adapter as part of the iPhone 3G or through a separate accessory purchase can get their replacement adapters through Apple retail stores or through web order. According to Apple, adapters ordered via Internet wills hip within three weeks of the order, starting on October 10. Replacement USB power adapters are marked with a green dot at the bottom. Apple decided to bypass the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission with this recall and did not provide any information how many products are affected.

However, with a confirmed shipment of more than 1 million iPhones 3Gs during the device’s launch weekend of June 9, as well as Q3 (July-September) shipment estimates of 4 to 8 million, units it is safe to assume that Apple will have to replace several million USB power adapters in the 14 countries the unit was sold.

Windows Live Wave 3 Betas are available

Windows Live Wave 3 Betas are available

I would assume that most of our visitors would know that, in a bid to be first, scene groups race each other to release stuff as soon as possible. Also, if you would cast your mind a while ago, you’d remember we had a poll that asked about people’s participation in testing of beta products. A healthy dose of you have voted that you throw caution to the wind to get your hand on the latest and greatest. I hope you see some form of connection there. Anyhow, yesterday Microsoft released their latest beta builds of Wave 3 products that feature the likes of Live Messenger 9.0, Live Mail, Movie Maker etc. I have to say WLM 9.0 and Live Mail are looking slick so I’ll give those 2 betas a go. You can do too since they are freely available to public. Mind you, they are still betas so it’s worth making a backup before you dive in.

Have you been drooling over the latest screenshots of Windows Live wave 3? Now get yourself in on the action. Microsoft is launching the official Windows Live Wave 3 beta today. Watcher of all things Microsoft Live, LiveSide.net has the links to the official downloads from Microsoft, that include the latest versions of Live Messenger, Movie Maker, Mail with Calendar synchronization, Writer, Photo Gallery, Family Safety and the Outlook Connector. These downloads have been confirmed as functional, and in the case of Windows Live Messenger will install “Version 2009, build 14.0.5027.908″

Speed up IE Start Up

This tweak tells Internet Explorer to simply 'run', without loading any webpages. If
you use a 'blank' page, that is still a page, and slows access. Notice the 'about:blank' in
the address bar. The blank html page must still be loaded. To load IE with 'nothing'
[nothing is different than blank]:
1. Right-click on any shortcut you have to IE
[You should create a shortcut out of your desktop IE icon, and delete the original
icon]

2. Click Properties

3. Add -nohome [with a space before the dash] after the endquotes in the Target field.

4. Click OK

Place Windows Kernel into RAM

It’s a given that anything that runs in RAM will be faster than an item that has to
access the hard drive and virtual memory. Rather than have the kernel that is the
foundation of XP using the slower Paging Executive functions, use this hack to create
and set the DisablePagingExecutive DWORD to a value of 1. Perform this hack
only if the system has 256MB or more of installed RAM! Edit the Registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\ Memory Management\DisablePagingExecutive to 1 to disable paging and have the kernel run in RAM (set the value to 0 to undo this hack). Exit the Registry and reboot.
